CHICAGO, Dec. 4, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — Athena Blockchain announced today that BlockTower Capital Partners LP has entered into a binding Letter of Intent (LOI) to invest in Athena Blockchain and that its CIO, Ari Paul, is serving as an advisor to the company.
"I’m thrilled to be an advisor to Athena Blockchain and help further its mission to provide institutional advisory, structuring, and placement for the tokenized security sector," said Paul. "Athena Blockchain is well positioned to tap into the growing interest in tokenizing securities offerings and introducing new products like tokenized REITs. These offerings can both unlock otherwise illiquid investment opportunities and provide a superior security to existing options for liquid investments. I’ve known the Athena Blockchain team for almost 2 years and have been consistently impressed by their professionalism and acumen. They’re committed to regulatory compliance and to building an industry leading firm with a long-term vision."
"Ari and his team at BlockTower have created a best of breed fund that has strategically introduced professional discipline and experience to the tumultuous crypto markets and shown leadership in our industry," said Eric Gravengaard, Athena Blockchain’s President. "We’re thrilled to have him supporting Athena Blockchain’s efforts to provide investors access to tokenized securities and great companies access to capital markets."
Athena Blockchain entered into a Joint Venture with 303 Alternatives, LLC a FINRA regulated broker dealer, on August 27, 2018, to provide compliant structuring and placement of tokenized securities.
The LOI contains binding terms of a transaction through which BlockTower agrees to become a capital partner of Athena Blockchain and to provide advisory services to Athena Blockchain. BlockTower will make a capital investment in Athena Blockchain for an undisclosed amount. The LOI and its terms are binding, subject to entering into a definitive agreement between the parties containing specific signing and closing terms.
